Supporting the Arts, Sciences & Humanities in Attleboro

The Attleboro Cultural Council is comprised of area volunteers with an interest 
in supporting the arts and humanities in the city of Attleboro.  
Our mission is to promote excellence, access, education and diversity 
in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences.


The Local Cultural Council (LCC) Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network 

in the nation supporting thousands of community-based projects in the 

arts, humanities, and sciences annually.


We are one of over 300 cities and towns in Massachusetts supported by the 
Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Council welcomes three new members
The Attleboro Cultural Council welcomes 3 new members; Pamela Bliss, Natalie MacDonald and Andrea Warner. If you are interested in joining us please let us know- we are welcoming any interested new members.

Review Time
The council has received over forty-five grant proposals this Fall and will be working carefully and diligently to review them starting this month.

Grant Proposals 

The Attleboro Cultural Council LCC Grants fund proposals from organizations, schools, and individuals.  Council grants support a variety of arts, science, and humanities projects in Attleboro -- including exhibits, festivals, lectures, workshops in the areas of music, theatre, dance, nature programs, poetry, the humanities, science, history, literature, visual arts, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools.  The Cultural Council  also entertains funding proposals from schools and groups through the Field Trip grant program, which provides subsidies for adults & children to attend cultural field trips.

Grant applications are available beginning in September at City Hall, Attleboro Public Library, or here on our website.   The grant applications for each grant cycle are due to the Cultural Council c/o Attleboro City Hall on a yearly basis by the 15th of October. 

 

ACC Grant Writing Workshops 

To help applicants in preparing an effective grant proposal requesting funding through an ACC grantthe Cultural Council each year holds a workshop  "Tips on Preparing a Grant Proposal to the Attleboro Cultural Council" at the Attleboro Public Library. Details on the next LCC grant writing workshop will be posted here on our website and online at The Sun Chronicle's website www.thesunchronicle.com  


The workshop is free and open-to-the public for residents, non-profit cultural organizations, artists, musicians, writers, lecturers, historians, environmentalists, actors, dancers, poets, hands-on science programs and schools interested in applying for funding from the Attleboro Cultural Council.

Membership
If you are a resident of Attleboro or a nearby town you are always welcome to attend any of our monthly meetings to learn more about membership.  

If you are interested in promoting the local arts and awarding thousands of dollars to Attleboro cultural activities, please consider joining us.  Write a letter to the Mayor's office , Attleboro City Hall, 77  Park Street, Attleboro MA  02703 and expressing your interest in volunteering to serve as a member of the Cultural Committee.  The Mayor will submit your name to the City Council for approval.  Once the City Council votes, you will be invited to the City Clerk's office to be sworn in and receive your appointment.
